If you are an immediate relative of someone who is an existing member you may be able to join.

Philosophy

As not-for-profit financial cooperatives, credit unions encourage savings and provide a source of credit for their Members.  Credit unions were founded on the principle of “not for profit, not for charity, but for service”.  The philosophy of, “people helping people” is the cornerstone of our movement.  The Member-owners have democratic control (one Member, one vote) of their credit union and elect from their midst a volunteer Board which appoints the Supervisory Committee.

Thinkwise Credit Union is an organization rooted in the credit union philosophy, committed to the “credit union difference,” and built on traditional values of commitment to service, respect for the individual and fiscal responsibility.  We hold ourselves to the highest standard of integrity, professional ethics, cooperation, and team spirit.  Our day-to-day decisions, as well as our strategic objectives, are based on what is in the best interest of our Members.

We place the welfare of our Members above all other priorities. We recognize the importance of a positive and supportive environment for our team, maintaining a financially strong and stable organization, and serving all our Members equitably.  We actively support the educational community and recognize the contributions all school employees make in the lives of students.  We are focused on assisting educators throughout the educational system by offering specialized products and services designed to meet their unique needs.

About Credit Unions

A credit union is a member-owned financial cooperative between people who share a common bond, such as employer, an association, or a community group. They join together in a not-for-profit organization for the purpose of doing business with one another.  Credit unions are usually able to offer higher dividends on savings and lower rates on loans and other services than other financial institutions may be able to do because credit union financial return is used for the benefit of the membership.

As a cooperative, Thinkwise Credit Union members are owners and expect to receive high quality financial services to meet all of their needs.  The Board of Directors is nominated from and elected by our membership, and serve on a voluntary, non-compensated basis.
